3D
starting off week two, I did the cut and fold 3D tasks, getting the 3 basic shapes out of the way first, I had done this kind of thing before, so didn't invest too much time into perfecting them. That said, I did find the pyramid harder to stick together than I anticipated, and could've probably used smarter tabs to stick it together.
On the subject of difficult nets, the "R" was quite a challenge, but Im happy with it overall. the most difficult bit was ensuring that the corner folds were crisp and clean. I managed this quite well, however it was difficult to keep it that way for long, as the adhesive took a few attempts to stick down firmly.
Lastly I did the phrase as a pop up book.
I'd say this is the weakest of the three for me, as I could've easily improved the quality of this piece with just a few simple adjustments. I had it in my head that I wanted to use only very basic shapes and minimal colour, however I think that the issue then became that it was too basic, and some people couldn't discern what was being shown.
Other than that Im quite happy with the level of understanding of pop-ups I gained from this, could maybe just incorporate my illustrator skills in a bit more next time.

2.5D
After the 3D work, I made some simple experiments in 2.5D. while my first few attempts were quite weak, I eventually started experimenting with some shapes and forms that were a bit more interesting. I found the best method was to grid up the back of the paper first to help keep the designs uniform.
overall Id say Im quite happy with the first two, I still also like the third one, however the actual craftsmanship is a bit weaker.
